Ways to Improve Your Chances of Winning
Blackjack stands apart from other casino games because your decisions determine the outcome. Knowing the right strategy can meaningfully reduce the house edge. New players at 12jit can practice for free in practice mode.
The key points of basic strategy are: making decisions based on the dealer's up-card, following different rules for soft hands (with an Ace), and knowing when to split pairs correctly. Mastering these three concepts puts you well ahead of the average player.
- Always hit on 16 or less when the dealer shows 7 or higher
- Always split two Aces or two 8s
- Consider doubling down on a hand of 11
- Generally avoid insurance bets
